GUANGZHOU - EDISON Chen says the greatest regret of his life was taking his computer to a shop for repairs, a decision which led to the theft of his sex photos and a scandal last year.
In excerpts of an interview with GQ magazine carried on China's Nanfang Daily website on Tuesday, the actor said although he had apologised for the scandal at the time, 'I still don't understand why I was the bad guy'.
The Canadian-born Chen said thanks to his girlfriend Vincy Yeung, he mustered up the courage to fly back to Hong Kong, face the media and apologise so 'things could calm down'.
'But was I really a bad person? I wasn't. People just needed a scapegoat,' he said.
Still, he said he 'learnt a lesson' from the incident.
